Introduction
As of RPG Build 9.0 and AWIPS OB 7.1, RPS lists may contain up to 150 products. Because of the AWIPS national dataset requirements, the actual number of products that can be included in a locally saved precip-mode RPS list is 115 for a precipitation-mode VCP. Local RPS list files are saved in /data/fxa/rps-lists. Default RPS lists are available in /data/fxa/radar/lists. The products that are automatically added to what the actual list of products the RPG uses are discussed on the table below on this , and are current through AWIPS OB 7.1. Guidance for local RPS lists for each of the VCPs are included on linked pages below the national dataset producst table. While perusing these pages, assume the following:
- RPS list guidance on these pages is only for LAN-to-LAN connections with an RPG. Slower connection speeds will require vastly different guidance than presented on these pages.
AWIPS National Dataset Products
These products are current as of AWIPS OB 7.1, and can be found locally at /fxa/data/prodList.txt. Several of these products and certain elevation angles are not added to the VCPs 31 or 32 lists. The products in the table below are not listed explicitly on local RPS lists. When local lists are created or edited, only products not included on the national list need to be selected. The only constraint on local lists is that the total number of products (local + national) cannot exceed 150.
From the table below, the following products are not included in a clear-air mode VCP: VIL, STI, HI, M, TVS, and SS. All told, there are a total of 29 products in Clear Air mode allowing for 121 products on a local RPS list, and 35 products in Precip mode allowing for 115 products on a local RPS list.
