BUFKIT is a forecast profile visualization and analysis tool kit developed by the staff at the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Buffalo and the Warning Decision Training Branch (WDTB) in Norman, OK. BUFKIT is used in the public, private, and educational meteorological sectors in both the US and Canada.  BUFKIT is available to anyone who is interested in the analysis of forecast hourly profiles.

Short Course   -  14 June 2004
This package includes the following:
  1. BUFKIT 4 - Build 63
  2. BUFKIT Short Course Powerpoint Presentation
  3. Exercise Job sheets (1-4)
  4. Sample Profiles required by the Job Sheets
Installation
  1. Download the BUFKIT Short Course Package by CLICKING HERE.
  2. Unzip the file into a temporary directory.
  3. Run the program "setup.exe"
  4. This setup program will install Bufkit and all the needed support and data files.
Running Bufkit
  1. Click on the Windows Start button, then click on "Programs -> BUFKIT AMS Short Course
  2. Here you will see options to:
    1. Run BUFKIT 4  -  Build 63
    2. Run BufGet.  This simplifies profile retrieval.  See THIS LINK for details.
    3. Display the BUFKIT Short Course presentation.
    4. Display Short Course Job Sheets
