Our Mission

The Warning Decision Training Branch (WDTB) develops and delivers training on the integrated elements of the warning process within a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/National Weather Service (NWS) forecast office. WDTB instructors develop and deliver a variety of in-residence, teletraining, and on-line asynchronous training content to meet this mission. Our goal is to increase expertise among NOAA/NWS personnel so that they can better serve the public during warning operations.

RDA/RPG Build 11.0 Training The training on new and updated functionality in RDA/RPG Build 11.0 is now available. This particular release has one significant change to the way clutter suppression is managed. It is called the Clutter Mitigation Decision (CMD) Algorithm, and the majority of this training is devoted to CMD. This training is intended for all NWS staff who use the RDA or RPG HCI to control the WSR-88D or involved with the decision-making on WSR-88D control. Remember that NWS personnel should complete the training in the Commerce Learning Center.	*Updated: June 19, 2009 13:22 CT* WES 9.0 Update 1 now available!
