Description

The WDTB Facilitation Workshop is intended for SOOs/DOHs who never attended one of the original AWOC Facilitation Workshops in 2004-05. The goals of the Workshop, as in 2004-05, are to provide an opportunity for SOOs/DOHs to learn about various aspects of how to facilitate workplace learning and performance. The in-residence environment helps to facilitate transfer of knowledge and skills in many areas such as:

  • WES simulations (focus on debriefing)
  • LMS administration
  • Developing training plans
  • Training evaluation (focus on performance transfer)
  • Using Root Cause Analysis Techniques
  • Communication
  • Mentoring and coaching
  • Basic instructional design
  • Social networks
  • Facilitating strategies for AWOC, DLOC, Dual-pol, AWIPS II
  • WDTB Help Mechanisms

Some other important information you should consider:

  • Please bring your laptops computers for in-class assignments
  • Dress business casual each day except for Thursday; On Thursday, more active attire is recommended

Travel Information

Travel dates will be Sunday and Friday afternoon of your workshop.  The workshop begins at 8:00 am on Monday and ends at 11:30 am on Friday.  During training hours, you may be reached at 405.325.3190. Per Diem for the Norman area is $77/$46 a day. Lodging accommodations will be at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites, 930 Ed Noble Drive, Norman, OK. The phone number for the hotel is 405.579.4000. There is no need to make individual reservations for your training; the Warning Decision Training Branch will make all reservations and a rooming list will be provided to the hotel.

Airport transportation is provided by Airport Express (the blue vans) located outside the baggage area of the terminal. They meet every flight so there is no need to schedule your transportation prior to your arrival. The transportation cost for each participant to/from the Will Rogers World Airport is approximately $38.00 each way. Airport Express will take credit cards for this service which will be reimbursed on your travel voucher.

REMINDER:  As WDTB is located in a secured building, please ensure that you bring your government ID badge.
